Men's wrestling couldn't hang on to a 14-6 lead, as it lost its home opener to Virginia Tech 21-17 at the Daskalakis Athletic Center Nov. 25.

Drexel dropped four straight matches as the Hokies improved their record to 2-0. Drexel won four of 10 matches, but lost its first dual match of the season.

The Dragons started off hot, as Bill Martin earned a major decision win over Nick Murray. After Virginia Tech won the next two matches at 141 and 149 pounds, All-American Ryan Hluschak dominated with a 19-9 major decision, giving Drexel an 8-6 overall lead.

A pin by Billy Haydt put Drexel up to a seemingly comfortable 14-6 lead. However, the Hokies reeled off four consecutive wins giving them a 21-14 lead with only one match remaining.

Drexel will host East Stroudsburg at Northampton High School Dec. 1.
