Luckily for Drexel, it once again found it's rhythm, as the Dragons put down the hammer.
Drexel went on a 7-1 run sparked by a pair of jumpers by Colds, including a three from the left wing.
A layup by Evan Neisler capped the burst, putting the Dragons up 49-31 with 5:09 left.
Robert Morris never got closer than 14 the rest of the way.
Neisler finished with eight points while Oveneke added five along with nine rebounds and three steals.
The two provided the Dragons with solid play as Frank Elegar was limited to just five points in 23 minutes due to foul trouble.
Elegar did contribute a game-high 10 rebounds and six blocks.
The gap in the score may have been much larger if Drexel had shot the ball better.
The Dragons shot just 33 percent in the second half (8-24) and only 31 percent from the free throw stripe (5-16).
However, they held the Colonials, who came into the game averaging 90.7 points per contest to just 1-16 from beyond the arc and under 30 percent from the floor.
"We had to keep them off the three point line, which we did," Flint said.
No Robert Morris player scored in double figures.
Nwigwe and A. J. Jackson each had seven to lead to the Colonials.
Only 1,073 fans were in attendance due to students being home for Thanksgiving; however, Flint said he was not making the quiet Palestra his excuse.
"You have to get yourself ready," he said. "If you want to win a league tournament, this is what it's going to be like."
Notes:
Robert Morris Head Coach Mike Rice received a technical foul for arguing with officials at the end of the first half. … The Dragons moved to 2-1 all-time against the Colonials.
