Two days and eight games later, I can finally kick back and reflect.

What was I doing during my Thanksgiving Weekend?

I was at the historic Palestra witnessing the Philly Classic.

For approximately eleven hours a day, I had a seat on press row, witnessing the inaugural event.

With every game came a different story, but ultimately our beloved Drexel Dragons and the Seton Hall Pirates, were able to come away victorious in their respective tournament brackets.

The Dragons defeated the Loyola Greyhounds in a nail bitter 54-52 to win the Liberty Bracket, while the Pirates managed the only real upset of the tourney, shocking the No. 23 ranked Virginia Cavaliers 74-60 to win the Independence Bracket.

I'm not going to bore you with too many stats, however, I am going to give you some insight into what happened during my adventure at the most historic venue in all of college hoops.

From thoughts on our showing in the tournament, to getting to sitting behind some intense coaches, to quotes of the tournament, this is some fantastic stuff.

I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I did.

Elegar makes free throws, wins tournament MVP

First off I'd like to tip my hat to Frank Elegar.

After being in foul trouble throughout the first half, a half in which he scored only six points in eight minutes, Elegar asserted himself pouring in fifteen in the second half en route to a 21-point MVP winning performance.

Down the stretch, however, is where "Frank the Tank" really earned his accolades.

With just 13 seconds remaining and the Dragons holding a slim 51-49 lead, Elegar received an inbounds pass and was immediately fouled by Loyola.

Elegar went to the free throw stripe, a place where he'd only been shooting at a 61 percent clip, and calmly hit both free throws giving Drexel a four-point cushion that they didn't relinquish.

"Early today I was working on [making free throws]," Elegar said.
