Comedian Stephen Lynch will perform Nov. 30 in the Main Auditorium for the Campus Activities Fall Comedy show.
Lynch was chosen form the list by a poll CAB posted on their web site. The poll asked whom the students wanted to see.
"It [the poll] was open for one month," CAB President Nicole Martino said.
According to Martino, just under 100 people were polled.
CAB members also had a say in who was invited to perform.
Ticket information was released by CAB recently and some students already intend to see the show.
"I've been [to the Comedy Show] twice." senior and finance major Steve Rennard said.
"I will plan on going if I can get tickets."
Not all students know about the event, however. Freshman international areas major Jo Lush said she had not heard about the show, but would be interested in going. Nadia Haque, a junior hospitality managemet major, and Alina Peerzada, a junior international area study major, showed the same interest as Lush.
Anu Singh, assistant director of traditions, explained that the major CAB events, including the Fall Comedy Show, the Crystal Ball and Spring Jam, take around three to four months to plan.
Since 2000, Lynch has released three CDs, one live DVD, starred in the Broadway musical "The Wedding Singer." He has been nominated for a Tony Award for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical, the Drama League Award for Distinguished Performance and Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Actor in a Musical.
