The men's team went out and truly earned the respect of the rest of the city, and any student who came out to the games last season can attest to just how satisfying it is to see our opponents learn about the toughness and determination that characterizes Drexel University. There was the mass exodus of the silent, dejected St. Joe's fans from the Palestra, before their defeat at the hands of the Dragons was even over. A week later, there was the 100 DAC Packers crammed into the highest seats in Villanova's Pavillion, making more noise than the rest of the crowd combined. There was the NC State game at the DAC, for which the visiting team needed to move their huddle away from the raucous crowd because they couldn't hear. This year it will be more of the same. We have a ton of great events planned, with a ton of free stuff to give away. As always, the student sections (yes there are two now!) will be blanketed with free DAC Pack t-shirts. And more than ever before, the DAC Pack will showcase the talented students that are proud to call Drexel home.
Freshmen, do not hesitate to get involved in the Drexel community. Come out to the games, bring your friends, have a great time and create your own tradition. Seniors, come out to the games, and for one last season, let the other city schools know who the "Best Fans in Philly" really are. The DAC Pack isn't just about basketball anymore. It's about students coming together to remind people that our school is better than theirs.
We'll supply the shirts. You guys supply the pride.
