What makes these two a great duo is that while their games are contrasting, they will both be responsible for handling the ball at the point guard position for the Dragons.
Colds is more of a shoot-first type of point guard while Harris is more of the prototypical pass-first, floor general type-one guard. Despite their impressive start, there is still a lot that needs to be worked on. Harris committed four turnovers, while Colds shot selection could've been better at times. He shot just 1-6 from behind the three point arc.
"Jamie (Harris) and Gerald (Colds) played well," Flint said. "They are still freshman, but they've got to realize that it'snot high school."
The good news is the season has just begun for these two New York City natives and Hynes-Guery.
Hynes-Guery, a 6'4 guard out of Montreal, Quebec, looked tentative on the court and committed three turnovers in 10 minutes.
Fortunately the season is very young and Hynes-Guery has the ability to make improvements in his game.
Neisler was impressive in the paint. The big man showed his athleticism early and often, grabbing two offensive rebounds and finishing around the basket, featuring a variety of jump hooks and put backs. His biggest shot, a jump hook, gave Drexel a seven-point advantage with just 2:45 to play.
Thursday proved to be a night of impact for Drexel's newest class of players. Colds, Harris and Neisler made their presence known throughout the game. Each of them should contribute this season; however, we will need to see more of Hynes-Guery before we can make that determination.
Nevertheless, if this game was any indication, the future looks like a bright one.
