Palistinian plan won't create lasting peace

And then there's the second, more immediate problem with the plan: negotiations will almost certainly fall through. Two parties who couldn't even agree on the color of the sky if you held them at gunpoint are somehow expected to negotiate the highly-contentious issue of national borders? Palestinians live within the established borders of Israel, what are they going to do? Forced relocation is just an invitation for conflict, as earlier events in the region have repeatedly proven. The Palestinian state would be non-contiguous, and an Israeli on his or her way to work may take a wrong turn and suddenly end up in a different, very hostile, country. In fact, a disagreement on the establishment of a border could easily turn into another Intifada.
It should be clear that the establishment of two separate states will do nothing more than make the whole situation worse.
Sadly, the latest effort to bring peace to that region is nothing more than a poorly conceived plan created by a naive American government who has a very poor grasp on how the region actually works. The plan only carries the false hope of peace and the promise of meaningless photo opportunities for American politicians, and nothing more. It is, in the most basic possible ways, an invitation for disaster and bloodshed.

The author writes with 20/20 foresight, predicting all sorts of problems with any settlement - I would like hear his solution to this Israeli/Palestinian saga!

the opinion in this article is pretty ridiculous. the UK is officially Christian. There's like 50 countries officially Islam, and another 10 countries officially Christian. (Continued…)

So what is your solution? And how will it work? Do nothing? Your whole premise is nonsense. Have you ever been to Japan, China, South Korea, Poland? Have you walked the streets of Tokyo, Shanghai, Seoul, Warsaw as I have? Wonderful countries and cities and people, and it is because they are ethnically homogeneous. (Continued…)

this article is biased and the author makes glaring, generalizations attempting to pass them off as "fact"; in short, "it sucks". I say "it sucks" because it is not worthy of anything more elegant. (Continued…)
