The "new" North Side Market will be expanding its inventory as well as re-vamping its menu.
"The grand re-opening will feature music, tastings, and a cook-off with competitors representing each residence hall and a prize of $250 in catering services," Rita LaRue Golloti, vice president of business services, said.
The North Side Market, originally opened in 1998. Last year, when the 40-year-old Kelly Hall underwent renovations, the Kelly Deli received a facelift as well. The renovation included a new front door, as well as a wider selection of grocery items. Additionally, the new Grill 155 will open.
"The North Side Market will retain popular grill menu items including cheese steaks, hamburgers, quesadillas, grilled chicken sandwiches and vegetarian options as well as a breakfast menu of french toast, pancakes, scrambled eggs, and so on," Gollotti said.
In addition to all of the old Kelly Deli favorites, the store will now also carry dorm room commodities such as toothbrushes and soap. Gift baskets with all of the items for making things like cookies and pasta dinners will also be available.
The Northside Market, along with the Creese Café and Ross Commons, are designed to be popular places for students to spend their Ultima funds and flex dollars.
