Drexel finished in first place at the 2007 Rehoboth Beach Invitational in Rehoboth, Delaware.
The Dragons shot 17-over-par, four strokes better than second place Monmouth, who finished at 21-over-par. Drexel also had the top two individual scores out of all competing golfers at the invitational as senior Steve Ransom finished at one-under-par with a score of 141, while junior Sean Semenetz posted a two-over-par 144.
With an opening round score of 292, Drexel found itself in a three-way tie for the lead with Monmouth and Iona, who would finish in third place. However, in the second round, Semenetz shot an even-par 71 and freshman Steve Kindron's added a one-over-par 72 as the Dragons were able to pull away for the victory. Junior Myles Vlachos birdied his final two holes to help solidify the four-stroke win for Drexel. Semenetz has now finished at par or better in four of the five rounds he has played this season.
Drexel was the only CAA representative in the nine-team field. This was the team's second competition of the season, as the Dragons had finished ninth out of a field of 18 teams at The McLaughlin Tournament at Bethpage State Park last weekend. The team will next compete Oct. 5.
