If you haven't seen the messages scattered throughout the paper, I'm here to tell you now that a revamped Triangle is coming with not only fresh look and feel but also brand new and better content.
Building off of the redesign that took place January of this year, we've decided that after 81 years, The Triangle is growing too big for its britches and needs a whole new, larger format to work with. By larger I mean double the size of the page you see now - minus a few square inches.
If you're an avid newspaper reader, you might say most papers you see are going to a size smaller than what they currently have. For example, the Wall Street Journal chopped off a few columns recently, and even our neighbors down the street, the Daily Pennsylvanian, are moving to a narrower width in the fall.
Well, we've never been a paper that follows trends, an independent characteristic The Triangle feels is uniquely Drexel. We're just doing what we think will best serve our readers.
The new size of the paper is going to give us the opportunity to deliver even more information on the page, but unlike the now tight and rigid layout of The Triangle, there will be room for graphics, photos, and the chance for our graphic designers to use their creativity (by the way, we need more graphic designers!). Additionally, the front page is going to have a detailed navigation bar that you will be able to use to find your favorite Triangle sections and features quicker and easier than before.
The staff has been putting in months of hard work and planning in to this project, and as readers we hope you'll be pleasantly surprised.
Look out August 10 for a brand new Triangle on the stands all over campus.
And don't be shy! Let me know if you have any questions, concerns, or criticism when it comes out.
