She credits her success to those around her.
"There are a lot of people at Drexel who support you and get you through the tough times: My coaches, my teammates, my friends, and the Achieve Center," she said.
Hynes, the final member of the team felt that she had put in the time to earn the honor.
"I was very happy because I worked hard all semester," Hynes said. "I worked really hard to get my GPA up so I felt it paid off."
Hynes, a diver, won the CAA Championship in both the one-meter and three-meter dives. Her performance earned her the CAA Diver of the Year award for a second consecutive season. Hynes was named 2007 Philadelphia Inquirer Swimming and Diving All-Academic Performer of the Year. A sophomore majoring in business administration, Hynes holds a 3.84 GPA.
Hynes credited time management as a big part of her success. "I budgeted my time for class and athletics and just stuck to it. I didn't let other things get in my way."
Walton and Crystal will be eligible for the National All-American Academic awards, which will be announced at a ceremony in June.
