After already getting a pair of guards from the New York area to commit to playing basketball at Drexel for next season, the Dragons can add yet another talented guard to the list of committees. Adrian Hynes-Guery, who stands 6-foot-4, can play at both the point guard and shooting guard positions. Hynes-Guery was a standout at Dawson College in Montreal, Quebec where he led his team to a 16-3 regular season in which they eventually won the Canadian Colleges Athletic Association Men's National Basketball Championship.

Hynes-Guery averaged 19.2 PPG, 4.1 APG, and 2.6 SPG during the regular season, ranking third in all three categories in the Quebec Student Sport Federation (QSSF). He would then increase those numbers in the CCAA National Basketball Championship Tournament, contributing 21.7 points and 3.7 steals per game. Hynes-Guery won MVP for the CCAA Men's National Basketball Championship Tournament and was named to the All-Tournament team.

In addition to those awards, Hynes-Guery was also was chosen as the 2006-07 Male Athlete of the Year Across All CCAA Sports, which recognizes not only his athletic ability, but the success of his team, his achievements in the classroom, and his involvement in the community. One of over 3,000 male athletes in the running for the award, Hynes-Guery has spent countless hours volunteering at the Brookwood City Basketball Association and the Marianopolis Youth Basketball House League. Additionally, he puts in time to coach at the Trevor Williams Basketball Academy Summer Camp.

Hynes-Guery will join 5-foot-9 guard Jamie Harris, who played at Wings Academy in New York City and Gerald Colds, a 6-foot guard from St. Raymond's in Bronx, New York. Both Colds and Harris were named to the First Team on the All-Borough team, and the two also were ranked among the top-10 New York City basketball players by Inside Hoops.

Harris has shown that he can get into the paint and finish at the rim consistently, or find his teammates for easy scoring opportunities. He averaged 19.3 points and 9.0 assists per game his senior season at Wings Academy. Colds was a major reason why St. Raymond's was ranked fifth in the state by Max Preps, putting up more than 19 points per contest.

With senior guards Bashir Mason and Dominick Mejia both set to graduate this June, all three recruits could contend for playing time immediately. Mason and Mejia, who had averages of 11.2 and 11.8 points per game respectively, made up almost 35 percent of the Dragons' total offensive output for the season.

The Drexel Dragons finished this past season with a record of 23-9, including wins against Syracuse, Villanova, and Temple. In addition to Mason and Mejia, also graduating is 6-foot-10 forward Chaz Crawford, who was named the CAA Defensive Player of the Year. The new crop of players and the ones returning from this year's squad will make for a very exciting and much anticipated basketball season.
