Greek Week is a time for the bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood to strengthen and have fun in an exciting week of diverse events. Those bonds became strongest May 7, when brothers and sisters locked arms, wrists, and hands in the Greek Week Arm Wrestling Tournament in the Great Court of the Main Building.

The passionate and sometimes deafening crowd, which sat on the stairs overlooking the Great Court, gave the contenders the lift they needed during the matches, often by chanting their names. This was crucial, given that the tournament was single elimination, and often matches would be at a standstill for minutes.

Contenders in the fraternities and sororities competed in two different divisions, based on weight. Before the start of each match, the contenders were weighed in to ensure that each participant was placed in the right class.

The fraternity winners were TKE for IFC over-180 pounds and AXP for IFC under-180 pounds. Winning the sorority titles were Phi Sigma Sigma for PHC over-130 pounds and Delta Phi Epsilon for PHC under-130 pounds.
