This weekend, NFL fans everywhere will get answers to the questions that have plagued them since the end of the season when we are witness to the NFL Draft. We'll find out if the Raiders want Jamarcus Russell. Where will Adrian Peterson go? How come I wasn't invited to the combine? There are countless others, but even more will be spawned after the NFL Draft is all over.

Wherever Calvin Johnson winds up, will he be as productive as scouts make him out to be? Is Brady Quinn the next Peyton Manning or Ryan Leaf? I hope he's the next Ryan Leaf; I've had enough of pretty boy quarterbacks, especially ones with coaching ties to Tom Brady.

The Eagles have pick 26 in the first round, and should look to fill the gap Michael Lewis left. Left might be the wrong word, it infers that he is gone on his own volition. The man wasn't resigned because of his un-Philly-like performance last year. In ESPN.com's Sportsnation mock draft, Texas Safety Michael Griffin was the projected pick. He has the speed and play-making ability that would go well with Brian Dawkins, and is also young, something Dawkins doesn't have. This is all conjecture, however, as the nation of sports fans does not make the final decision on whom to draft. It might be a good thing too; Philly fans didn't care for McNabb back in the day but he turned out to be okay. You fools, Syracuse only produces the finest in athlete products. Look at Carmelo Anthony, Donovan McNabb, Marvin Harrison, Dwight Freeney and Jim Brown.

It was announced last week that Vince Young will adorn the cover of Madden 2008. Farewell, Vince, it would have been nice to see how you could have matured in the league without multiple leg fractures and a brain contusion.

In others sports…

Turning to NASCAR, Jeff Gordon tied the late Dale Earnhardt for sixth in career wins with a victory last Saturday at Phoenix International Raceway. Apparently Jeff Gordon is one of the all-time great left hand turners. Here is where I usually would place the obligatory joke about how no one above the Mason-Dixon line cares, but the plague that is known as NASCAR has infected the minds of many innocent non-rednecks. The only people I respect in NASCAR are/were Tony Stewart and Dale Earnhardt. These two are pioneers for what NASCAR should be: Exxxtreme NASCAR. Hundreds of left hand turns are entertaining (I guess) but we all know that everyone likes the crashes. Reward points for crashes as a result of your aggressive driving, with a multiplier effect being applied for mid-air barrel rolls and YAC (Yards After Crash) would be awesome. Not only would the rednecks love the sport more, it would make the rest of us curious - that's a perfect in for marketers.
