Peripheries of Hollywood
A Study in Her - 2005
It's become tough for local indie bands to really get their foot in the door unless they're doing a car commercial. But if people actually check out some of these bands, they may find themselves intrigued by a pleasant surprise. Such was the case with Peripheries of Hollywood. A wild mix of electronic, synth, and some old fashioned rock and roll. The album's interesting lyrics will entrance the listerner. Songs like Robot Cocaine, Mistaxonomy (my personal favorite on track), and the title track, Peripheries of Hollywood. If you like straight rock and roll music, download at least one of the above tracks.

Samurai Reincarnation
Makai Tensho - 1981
Remember that line from Kill Bill that goes, "If you encounter God, he will be cut?" This is the Sonny Chiba flick that the line comes from. The film covers a crazy story about a Christian rebel who is killed and enlists an army of undead to do his dirty work. He makes the unfortunate mistake of crossing paths with Jubei Yagyu (Sonny Chiba samurai, yes!) and starting a supernatural war between crazy undead warrioror, Jubei. The film starts off slow and weird and the dubbing makes for a wonderful hint of unintentional comedy. But once it picks up, it doesn't slow down and starts adding some of the most ridiculous things you'll ever see, like a whip made of human hair. There are some classic quotes and one-liners thrown in there as well, so keep your Facebook profile in "edit". This movie is definitely a movie to watch with friends to create your own commentary.

ATHFCMFT
Dave Willis and Matt Maiellaro - 2007
The new Aqua Teen movie is not for the faint of heart or the easily confused. Actually, it doesn't matter how intelligent you are, you'll still be baffled by what the hell is going on. However, if you have a taste for the fast food cartoon, this movie is hilarious. The television show that the movie is based off runs for about 11 minutes. Now the movie is just one 86 minute long episode. Since the writers for the show have no attention span, the plot strays until you forget what the movie is about, but that doesn't mean it's still not a riot. For anyone who enjoys the show, the Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theatres is a must.
