Drexel is a university with great potential. We believe most students agree. This potential often breeds great success, but sometimes not enough. Many aspects of a Drexel education need examination and introspection.

We feel that many students want a demonstration of good faith from the University administration to show that we can still trust them. Often, as a newspaper, we only hear student unease about their actions. We too are concerned about this, especially after recent events involving a financial loan company's "kickback" to our University for preferred vendor status.

Therefore, as The Triangle editorial board and the voice of students, we present Drexel administrators with this Creed of Responsibility below. We urge all administrators and staff members who are responsible for the welfare of students to review this creed. If you agree with it, please cut this out, sign it and visibly post it in your office or cubicle.

Consider this an opportunity to show students that the University serves their needs first. The editorial board will honor those who are willing to take this important extra step.

It will be a new beginning for our University.

Creed of Responsibility

I, as a trustee, administrator or staff member at Drexel University, who makes decisions that affect students, believe the best way to maintain a strong community is to actively work in the best interest of students. I will ensure that all decisions I make are undoubtedly for the students. I further state that I will neither take any illegal or unethical actions nor idly allow them to occur, as these will certainly, sooner or later, adversely affect the University and the trust of the student body.

I recognize that the path to building up our University's standards as a premier academic institution is through the recognition of student interests. Students pleased and confident with the work of their University are students who will continue to give back to their alma mater and spread its prestige.

I understand that without students, Drexel would not exist and it is my responsibility to ensure that the needs of students govern all University decisions.

Instead of publishing something like this, which is just stupid, why dont you take some real action and post a cover story which expresses the student's frustration in the administrative curruption? And how about you dont stop publishing cover stories until something is done about it? Why dont you demonstrate the sick and aggregious flaws in how money is handled around here, particularly in financial aid?
