While most of us were back at home or on vacation during spring break, many of Drexel's varsity athletes were competing on their respective playing fields. Individuals in Swimming and Wrestling earned honors and the Softball and Lacrosse programs enjoyed very successful Spring Breaks.

In swimming and diving, Katie Hynes placed 32nd in the nation on the 3-meter springboard and finished the season ranked 26th in the 1-meter event at the NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships at the University of Minnesota, Mar. 9, 2007.

Drexel's All-American Ryan Hluschak finished eighth at the 2007 NCAA Wrestling Championships at the 157 pound division, capping one of the most successful tournament runs in Drexel history.

Drexel's softball team went 8-3 from Mar. 7 - Apr. 1, with doubleheader sweeps over the University of Sciences, and the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, along with two wins over Delaware, and a win versus Rutgers and UNC-Wilmington, to improve to 9-6 on the season, and 3-3 in the CAA.

Men's lacrosse went 3-1 over the break with wins over Lafayette, VMI, and Sacred Heart to improve their record to 7-3 on the season. Women's Lacrosse went 4-1 over the break to improve to 7-2 with wins over St. Joe's, Lehigh, Bucknell and George Washington.

The tennis teams struggled at the Hampton Roads College Tennis Round Up March 30 and 31, with the men finishing 1-1 and the women 0-2, with both teams losing matches to conference rival Old Dominion. The men's team was able to bounce back Apr. 3, with a win over LaSalle 7-0, while the women's team continued to struggle, losing 6-1 to Towson Apr. 3.

The golf team finished 10th at the William and Mary Invitational on Mar. 27th, and finished 11th at the Lacrosse Homes Collegiate Invitational hosted by Towson Apr. 1.

The Crew teams also did well over the break. At the Murphy Cup Regatta held Mar. 24, the men's varsity eight finished fifth while the women's varsity eight finished fourth. The women's varsity four finished third in the preliminary heat.
