University City District announced the launch of UCity Mobile, a mobile web search site, March 9.

UCity Mobile is a cooperative project between University City District and Geocentric, a specialty web software and map company.

Cell phone users can now use the Internet on their phones to locate area retailers, restaurants, attractions and accommodations. The information will be culled from the University City District Web site.

UCD Marketing Director Lori Klein Brennan said that the district wanted to ensure that mobile phone users had access to the information posted on their Web site, regardless of where they are or what they are doing.

Also, the University City District Web site was re-launched and now features custom interactive maps, updated and new retail information, an integrated calendar with upcoming arts and cultural events, and user-friendly navigation. The new University City interactive map allows for a bird's-eye views of area retail, dining and cultural destinations.
