Behind Every Graduate Award Continued in 2007
The Behind Every Graduate Award for Excellence in Secondary School Teaching will be continued this year to honor high school teachers who have provided new perspectives or inspired students to consider a specific major or career. Undergraduate seniors who will graduate in June are invited to nominate the high school teacher that motivated him or her to pursue a college education through the provost's office Web site. Additionally, students must submit a one- to two-page essay, including the teacher's name, high school subject taught and a statement about why the teacher should be considered. The teacher must still be actively teaching. All submissions are due April 27.

The contest will offer a $100 prize for first place winners. The deadline is April 11. Winners will be invited to read their work at the Week of Writing event in May.
IPL Comes to iSchool at Drexel
The Internet Public Library, founded by University of Michigan professor Joseph Janes in 1995, is coming to the University iSchool College of Information Science and Technology. Its purposes are to educate library and information science students and also serve as a public resource. According to Eileen Abels and Denise Agosto, associate professors at CoIST, students seeking online homework help constitute 40 percent of the traffic on IPL. Also, the IPL received 10,000 hits during its first week, and is now used internationally in places such as Honolulu, London and Beijing.
