Women's basketball team loses to Blue Hens

The Drexel women's basketball team's chances of repeating as Colonial Athletic Association champions ended rather quickly. After rallying from an 11-point second-half deficit to force overtime and scoring the first five points of the extra session, the fourth-seeded Dragons looked to be well on their way to a comeback victory over fifth-seeded Delaware in the quarterfinals of the CAA Tournament.

Drexel basketball guard Dominick Mejia reached the 1,000-point plateau Feb. 17 in the Dragons' win over Creighton.

"I knew I was getting close to the 1,000-point mark, but I didn't know I went over it," Mejia said. "I just wanted to play well out there. I knew it was a big game for the team, and that was what I was focusing on."

Mejia scored 20 points and helped his team overcome an 11-point second-half deficit to upset the Blue Jays 64-58 in front of a record crowd of 17,607 at the Qwest Center.
