The new Web site for the College of Media Arts and Design (CoMAD) went public Aug. 15. The redesign was the product of a six-month long endeavor between Electronic Ink, a user interface design group, and students from CoMAD. The new site is a clearer representation of the talent displayed by the students of the college and meets with web standards and user requirements.

The new Web site was conceived by the partnership of EI's design team, technologists, business analysts and psychologists in addition to four Digital Media Co-op students: Jon Aldinger, a digital media junior major; Tony Ballas, a computer science pre-junior; Dan Mall, a digital media junior; and Adam Little, a digital media senior. EI has bequeathed all of their services and provided the students with education and mentoring via concentration on their design process. Students took part in design and usability reviews of the current and competing sites and ran user surveys to ensure the design would meet user expectations. Through their experience in redesigning CoMAD's Web site, students gained not only crucial professional experience, but also recognized their talents in fields they may have not pondered before, namely Graphic Design.
