New Director of Student Affairs/Bursar Announced
Senior Vice President Elzey announced the appointment of Christal Claiborne as the new Director of Student Affairs/Bursar July 20.
Claiborne comes from DeVry University, where she served as Director of Student Finance. Claiborne has many years of experience in student finance and financial aid services. The Office of Student Affairs/Bursar was previously filled by Patricia Guirate, who lead the conversion to a the annual billing process.
IRT WebCT Vista Boot Ca.m.ps for Summer Term
The Office of Information Resources and Technology scheduled WebCT Vista Boot Ca.m.ps for instructors, teaching assistants and administrators. The sessions will run from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on July 29, August 26 and September 23 in the Korman Center, Room 116.
These boot camp meetings will offer participants an opportunity to explore WebCT Vista so they can learn how to use it in union with their face-to-face courses in a merged learning environment or in entirely online courses. Laptops will be available for hands-on learning. IRT will also provide lunch to participants.
Students Work Presented in ArtForms Gallery Exhibit
The work of recent art major graduates will be featured in the 11th Annual Artist Exhibition at the ArtForms Gallery in Manayunk from July 13 through August 14. A reception and awards ceremony will be held on July 28, 2005 from 6-9 p.m.
Recent graduates from Antonelli Institute, Arcadia University, Moore College of Art, Rosemont College, St. Joseph's University, Tyler School of Art and University of the Arts will also partake in the exhibit.
Cash prizes will be given to the top three artists. The Gallery offers a fully funded one-year membership to selected participants so they can exhibit and sell their work in all of the gallery's group displays.
ArtForms Gallery is open Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday from 12 p.m. - 9 p.m. and or by appointment.
Lebow College of Business wins Apex Grand Award
The APEX 2005 Grand Award in the Non-Profit Small Office was awarded to the LeBow College of Business for its 2004 annual report, Orchestrating the Lead.
LeBow also won five Awards for Excellence in corporate/organization capability materials, most improved brochures, manuals and reports, total publication program, covers for the LEAD MBA brochure and marketing campaigns.
LeBow's 2004 Annual Report was chosen for its use of visuals, dyna.m.ic, bold and interesting spreads with decisive, lively type and imagery that keeps viewers viewing.
The APEX Awards for Publication Excellence is held annually for writers, editors, publication staff and business and nonprofit communicators.
Dr. Eric Zillmer on OLN's Countdown-Survival 25
Director of Athletics Eric Zillmer talks about the perils of the "death zone" in high altitude climbing, the dangers of desert sports and surfing among sharks in the new outdoor adventure series, Countdown-Survival 25. This will be broadcast throughout July on the Outdoor Life Network.
