The College of Information Science and Technology will host IP3 Incorporated's Implementing IT Security - From Strategy to Reality seminar June 28 and June 29. IP3 Inc. is a leader in the field of information security.
The seminar will feature speaker Kenneth Kousky, CEO of IP3, Inc. Kousky has taught technical risk/return, fair-value insurance analysis, network engineer, and Finance and Economics at schools like Washington University in St. Louis and the University of Pennsylvania. He has been giving workshops like these since 1985. Kousky also has invaluable experience as an executive at companies like Novell, and founded a technology training company called Wave Technologies. In a short six years, Wave Technologies became one of the first technology companies to be traded on the NASDAQ.
The seminar will focus on the effective implementation of security solutions. Many companies do not have an information security department, so many employees on the IT team share the responsibility. The goal is to provide proactive solutions to prevent an attack, while giving IT professionals reactive solutions in case the network is compromised. Attendees will also explore multi-vendor integration, wireless device security, spam, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, internal theft of intellectual property, cryptography and a multitude of other security-related topics.
The event will be held in the Stein Auditorium in Nesbitt Hall. For more information visit http://www.ip3seminars.com.
