Mandell Theater to hold Leslie Jordan performance

The third annual Philadelphia Gay & Lesbian Theatre Festival will be held June 9-19 with a performance in Mandell Theater. Starting in 2003 by Matthew Cloran and Bill Esher, the Festival comprises plays, musicals, one-acts and more. Works included are about or will be performed by members of the gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender community.
This year, one of the venues chosen for performances is Mandell Theatre. Like a Dog in Linoleum features an autobiographical performance of the life of Leslie Jordan, from his early childhood in Tennessee to his rise as a successful Hollywood actor. Jordan is famous for his role on the popular TV sitcom Will & Grace, where he plays Karen's nemesis Beverley Leslie. Winner of the 2005 LA Weekly Best Comedy Perfomance, Linoleum is directed by David Galligan and will be showing June 9 and 10, starting at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for Linoleum are priced at $35, and include a reception with Jordan.
Other venues include for the festival include the Arcadia Stage at the Arden Theatre, the Mum Puppettheatre and the Walnut Street Studio Theatre.
Tickets can be puchased via the Festival Box Office at the Arden Theatre, by phone at 215.922.1122 for all shows. Tickets for all shows except Leslie Jordan are sold at $15, and a festival pass is priced at $90.
