Readers,
Last week, I received a commentary from Edward Myzsak III titled, "Where, oh where, have the manly-men gone?" The commentary, through discovery by a reader, was actually copied off of a newspaper from the University of Miami in Ohio. The discovery was made after the issue was published, so we were unable to prevent it from appearing in paper form. I personally pulled the commentary from the web site and alerted Mr. Myzsak as to our problem. Even though Mr. Myzsak stated in his submission e-mail that it was his work, he recanted and stated it indeed was not his work.
As Ed-Op Editor, I am ultimately responsible for everything published in my section. I hope our readers and the University of Miami's newspaper accept my sincere apologies for this incident. I could not have possibly known that this was pulled from another paper, but ultimately, I accept the blame for this incident.
