Participate in Philadelphia Cares' Serve-a-thon
Join Greater Philadelphia Cares, in partnership with the School District of Philadelphia, Oct. 2 for the 11th annual Philadelphia Cares Day Serve-a-thon, a marathon day of service that gives our children more attractive and functional learning environments. 150 schools will benefit from fresh coats of paint, refurbished libraries, landscaped green spaces, restored playground equipment and much more. As one of 12,000 volunteers, you could help contribute 60,000 volunteer hours in just one day.
Register at http://www.philacares.com by Sept. 25 or call 215-564-4544 for more information.

Greater Philadelphia Cares & Woodrock Partner to present The Possibility Project
In his book, "The Art of Possibility", conductor, teacher and author Ben Zander tells us that there are three ways a person can respond in the face of adversity: resignation, anger or possibility. Inspired by this message, The Possibility Project works with youth to embrace the idea of possibility in situations where anger and resignation may seem like easier choices. Volunteers will train youth in conflict resolution, using creative expression projects that include drama therapy, art therapy and mediation skills. Program begins in Sept. For more information, call Betty Palios at 215-564-4544 or e-mail
