Some of the most highly anticipated finales were saved for the last two weeks in May. Here are the summaries for the most popular shows that aired season or series finales between May 19 and May 24.
CSI
A casino employee is raped and nearly murdered after work. She is able to identify the murderer but DNA evidence sets him free. Grissom thinks it might be a brother, but the victim is sure it is the man who was set free. After an examination of the suspect, Grissom learns that he is a chimera, a man with two sets of DNA, an actual phenomenon that happens when one fraternal twin dies and is absorbed into the living one. After the case is solved, Grissom goes to help Sara who has been caught driving under the influence.
CSI: Miami
An adult film star is found dead, and the CSIs must find the killer. DNA under the girl's nails incriminates a man who distributes her films and is also a known sex offender. Calleigh discovers a threatening answering machine message, but an accident at the lab destroys it. Now the CSIs have to find another piece of evidence leading to the suspect.
Angel
Angel and his crew prepare for an ultimate battle with The Circle of the Black Thorn. Spike seeks out a cult; Lorne goes after Lindsay; Gunn confronts an evil senator; and Angel battles the Senior Partners' underling Hamilton. The episode - and the series - ends as the remaining members of Team Angel are about to fight a dragon and a group of demons.
Smallville
A girl named Kara from Krypton arrives to get Clark to return home. Clark discovers a secret of Lex's that leads to a falling out between them. Chloe and her father walk into a new house which subsequently explodes. Lana goes off to Paris, much to Clark's dismay. Lex unwittingly drinks poison, and Lionel Luthor gets a new hairdo in prison.
The Simpsons
When Mr. Burns attempts to buy all the media outlets in Springfield to improve his image, Lisa fights back in the name of free speech using her own newspaper she published to present her poems. Burns tries to buy Lisa's successful newspaper out and tries to illicit dirt on Lisa from Homer, which he uses to his advantage. Feeling guilty, Homer publishes the truth in his own newspaper, inspiring all the townsfolk to think for themselves.
