The Steinbright Career Development Center is holding pre-registration meetings from March 15 to April 23 for students participating in the fall-winter co-op cycle for the 2004-05 academic year.
First-time co-op students are required to attend a group pre-registration meeting in order to participate in the co-op process. Reservations are required in order to attend and can be made by calling the SCDC. The meetings are held multiple times during the week and evening sessions are offered as well. No walk-ins are accepted.
The pre-registration sessions are intended to help first-time co-op students become better prepared for their job search. Students are also required to attend a session in order to view co-op jobs and participate in the online co-op job search process.
Students attending the pre-registration session will receive guidance from a co-op coordinator about maximizing the job search, a resume critique, verification that their requirements have been completed and that they are eligible to continue the job search process. Students returning from a co-op experience that are entering into their second or third co-op cycle are required to meet with their co-op coordinator to discuss their latest experience after filling out their Employment Summary and Planner form. This appointment is a requirement for receiving permission to search for jobs online.
SCDC did not return several calls from The Triangle.
