The University is advising students to be on alert in the event of a strike by 4,700 SEPTA City Transit Division employees March 15.
Talks are still in process between SEPTA and the Transport Workers Union Local 234. The strike would stop all bus and trolley activity within the city, in addition to subway activity on the Market-Frankford and Broad Street lines.
SEPTA Regional Rail, Red Arrow and Frontier Division, PATCO, New Jersey Transit, and Amtrak will not be directly affected by this strike. Because parking in parking garages is limited to permit holders only, the University has advised students, staff and faculty to adopt alternative methods of transportation.
In University City, Drexel and the University of Pennsylvania will team up to provide shuttle transportation every half hour from 7 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and 4:15 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. to major stops around the city, according to the Drexel Web site.
The Blue and Gold Dragon Shuttle routes will run on regular scheduled times.
Tenet will continue regularly scheduled shuttle services between Queen Lane Medical Campus, Center City Hahnemann Campus, MCP Hospital and the Eastern Pennsylvania Psychiatric Institute.
