Perry, May awarded at CAA Championships

Drexel's men's swimming and diving team placed seventh and the women placed ninth at last weeks Colonial Athletic Association Championships. Anthony Perry placed first on the one and three meter boards to earn Outstanding Diver of the CAA Championships. Perry set a new conference record on the three meter board with a score of 610.09. His coach, Larry May, was awarded Diving Coach of the Year.

On day one, women's diver Kara Boate took first in the three-meter boards while setting a new pool record of 473.90. Two days later, Boate took third on the one meter with teammate Evamarie Guerrieri edging her out for second.

Other action on day one saw both men's and women's 200-medley relay swim to eighth place while the men's and women's 800 freestyle relay teams took fifth and tenth respectively. On day two, Perry took first on the one-meter boards while teammate Steve Ruestle placed a close fourth. Also on day two, the men's Gergely Nagy placed fifth in the 200 freestyle. Nagy then took third in the 100 breaststroke on day three. Katie McCann led the way for the women. She took third in the 500 and 200 freestyle, and fifth in the 1650 freestyle in three consecutive days.
