Have you heard rumors about a Taco Bell in the Hagerty Library and went to check it out, only to find a crowded set of tables and no food in sight but lame Sodehxo snacks? Have you crashed into a fence surrounding Kelly? If any of the above situations apply to you, you may agree with our simple request.
Events that affect both society and the world at large in life-altering, unprecedented ways are rare to witness. For previous generations, the influence came in the form of depression, war, liberation of the society on political, social and sexual levels, the power of free speech and being able to change the world with direct action.
Oil prices exceeded $147 a barrel on July 11, 2008. Before that, Goldman Sachs predicted that oil prices would reach $200 a barrel. But it did not. In fact, it dropped to close to $32 in mid January 2009 and some predicted that the price would go as low as $25 a barrel.
Much of our childhoods have been spent in the classroom, our teachers serving as our surrogate parents. No one person devoted more time or energy in their schedule caring for us. Education is the foundation of society. Our early social, cultural and intellectual growth stems from our educational system.
As I write this, there are many issues going on in the world today. Economic woes, political woes, and all the celebrities that you like are dying off while the ones that you don't like continue to thrive and multiply like roaches. Fortunately, we're not going into anything serious or deep like that.
