Like many other organizations throughout the country, Drexel University is looking to get its hands on a piece or two of the economic stimulus pie. The language of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act leaves much to the imagination in some places, so it is now up to the government agencies and committees to appropriate the funds more specifically.

Barack Obama has finally made semi-clear his intentions on the two wars he inherited from the George W. Bush administration. In Iraq, he is going to stay the course. In Afghanistan, he is preparing what appears to be a variation of the Iraqi surge - a large infusion of troops that, admittedly incapable of providing the margin of a military victory, is presumably intended to stave off impending collapse.
Once again, we find John Stocks and his Swedish wife Mary Banks at the dinner table in their spacious house to discuss the current recession, still their favorite topic of conversation. Both have high paying jobs and are worried about keeping those jobs, never mind their bonuses.
