Congratulations to Kristen Smith, Undergraduate Student Government Association president for 2008-2009, and the rest of the elected officials in the USGA. You are in a unique position to affect change at Drexel. The potential and ability to do great things is there for you; the only requirement is that you act.
Russian journalist Anna Politkovskaya was due to publish an article detailing the torture and kidnappings in Chechnya based on witness accounts and photographs of tortured bodies that she had collected. But mere days before her article was supposed to see print, she was gunned down in her Moscow apartment.
This was the first year my organization was eligible to receive funding from SAFAC, which was very exciting. We received our annual allocation, and I was more than happy with the amount awarded. This was money that we never had before, and it will benefit our members as well as the Drexel community.
Every human being lives inside the creations and interpretations of his mind, for we are only our thoughts. The way we conceive the world is our reality; it is unique to each individual because his perception of his environment and personal experiences are vastly different from everyone else's - as the old saying goes: "No two minds are alike.
The Triangle reported May 9 that the Undergraduate Student Government Association presidential race was uncontested yet again. You may recall that the race was uncontested in 2004 and 2006 as well. To an outsider, it would appear that either these presidential candidates are so strong that no one wants to oppose them, or that there is a genuine lack of interest in the USGA across the student body.
