Sen. Barack Obama's experiences in the classroom will help him greatly in his campaign and potentially in the White House, according to Chapin Cimino Cody, an associate professor at the College of Law and a former student of Obama. Cody, who took a seminar on "Race and the Law" at the University of Chicago Law School with Obama, said the class allowed students to see a more personal side of Obama.
Sen. Hillary Clinton will appear on Drexel's University City campus April 11 for an event titled "solutions for urban economies," a campaign source said April 9. The event will take place from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Main Building and will be a "town hall" style event with the chance to pose questions to Clinton, the source said.
The Drexel Democrats, working with Drexel Votes 2008, turned in 1,950 Pennsylvania voter registration forms thus far since September of 2007, according to Sean Miller, president of the Drexel Democrats. This, however, doesn't include forms that students may have turned in themselves or the drives run by the College Republicans.
Students will now be able to participate in Drexel Bike Share, an alternative to taking SEPTA or keeping a car on campus. Drexel Parking Services, through the Power of Ten program, will allow students to rent bikes for a weekday or an entire weekend free of charge.
The Delta Sigma Phi fraternity closed their Gamma Chi chapter March 17 on Drexel University's campus for "non-compliance with the Delta Sigma Phi Policy on Responsibility and Accountability," according to a press release from the fraternity's national headquarters.
In an effort to improve education standards in the area, Drexel and the University of Pennsylvania are in talks to begin managing two University City District high schools. The main goal the project will be to foster learning and encourage local students to seek degrees beyond the high school level, according to University City school district spokesperson Felecia Ward.

The White Dog Café held its second annual Green Dog Day, a breakfast and discussion on the environment and green policies, Thursday, April 3. The event highlighted the "green" practices that the restaurant has instituted. According to handouts distributed at the breakfast, Judy Wicks, the owner of the White Dog Café, uses a triple bottom line business technique that focuses on environmental friendliness and social impact, in addition to financial profit.
Architect Cameron Sinclair, co-founder of the charitable organization Architecture for Humanity and author of "Design Like You Give a Damn: Architectural Reponses to Humanitarian Crises," spoke April 3 to an audience of architecture students from the Westphal College of Design, as well as a mix of professors and other individuals.
