Elegar, Oveneke end careers in UDel loss

Frank Elegar had dominated Delaware-until the second half of 10th-seeded Drexel's first round CAA Tournament game against the Blue Hens. Elegar scored 13 points in the first half, but was held to just two in the second half as the Dragons' season ended with a 60-51 loss to seventh-seeded Delaware March 7 at Richmond Coliseum.

Ambler nets nine points in 12-5 win

Drexel needed a big performance to jump start it for its toughest road trip of the season - and Drexel got it. The No. 14-ranked Dragons came through, pounding Saint Joseph's 12-5 at Vidas Field March 12. Drexel (5-1) dominated from the start, grabbing the lead less than three minutes into the game, and they never let go.

Women CAA Tourney

Last year was a record year for the CAA, as Old Dominion, James Madison and Delaware received bids to the NCAA Tournament. This year, the CAA is back to being underrated, as no team has received much notoriety besides nationally-ranked Old Dominion. However, the conference has been competitive from top to bottom.

Women's B-ball prepped for title run

When a team starts off a season 1-6, it's easy to give up and start thinking about the next season, especially when the team is in one of the best conferences in the country. Nevertheless, the women's basketball team didn't give up and has a chance to do something no team has done since 1991 - knock off Old Dominion (17-1, 26-4) in the CAA Tournament, who is going for its 17th straight CAA Title.

GMU bound for NCAA Tournament

A witty sign at the CAA Tournament Championship game read, "This year's George Mason is George Mason." The Patriots will have every opportunity to try and replicate what they accomplished just two years ago. GMU, a team that shocked the country in 2006 advancing to the Final Four as an 11-seed, received the CAA's automatic bid into the field of 65 by defeating the "Kardiac Kids" of William & Mary 68-59.

Drexel wrestlers return to NCAA Championships

Wrestlers Ryan Hluschak and Steve Mytych are headed to the National Championships in St. Louis. Hluschak finished in second at 157 pounds at the CAA Championships, while Mytych placed third at 125 pounds and earned a wildcard selection for the NCAAs. Each will be making his third appearance in the National Championships.

IFC Athletic Update

The IFC basketball and floor hockey seasons came to a close this weekend, with hockey finishing up in a giant eight-game finale that saw Alpha Pi Lambda win three straight games, taking the championship from last-year's winners, Pi Kappa Alpha. Apple Pi was successful in completing an undeafeated season, going 5-0 including the championship match, and scoring a total of 24 goals and allowing just eight.
