Drexel University will begin developing a sworn campus police department over the next two and a half years with plans to have a 29-officer force by 2010, Domenic Ceccanecchio, senior associate vice president for Public Safety, announced March 5 at a student luncheon.
Democratic presidential candidates Sens. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama will debate in Philadelphia at the National Constitution Center April 16, according to press releases from both the campaigns. A National Constitution Center spokeswoman confirmed the debate would be held at the Center.
Designs for upcoming construction projects, as well as plans for a campus police department, were unveiled at a luncheon held by James Tucker, senior vice president for Student Life and Administrative Services, March 5 in the Bossone Research Enterprise Center.
University administrators from a host of offices gathered with students for a town hall meeting March 5, organized by Dean of Students David Ruth. The meeting, titled "Conversations with Administrators," was organized after calls from the Undergraduate Student Government Association and an editorial published in The Triangle, according to Ruth.
In an effort to raise awareness of Drexel around Placer County, Calif., the University has established a $1 million scholarship fund, the "Build the Pipeline Scholarship," for students from Placer County and the Sacramento region. "The scholarships are an expression of Drexel's strong interest in serving the students and families of Sacramento and Placer counties," Vice President for Enrollment Management, Joan McDonald, said in a press release.

Tau Kappa Epsilon collected 72 pints of blood from 95 donors during an American Red Cross-sponsored blood drive hosted at their fraternity house Feb. 25. This was the second blood drive run by the fraternity during the current school year, and the fifth since March 2006.

The benefits of exercise for students with too much stress are numerous. A study done by the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association listed the top two benefits of exercise as improving emotional well-being as well as reducing stress. John Watson, Director of Alcohol, Other Drug and Health Education and Director of Counseling encouraged students to exercise to release their frustration and get some activity.
