Sri Lanka: The Pearl of the Indian Ocean. One of the most understudied and misunderstood nations of the world, which is home to about 19.3 million people, great cultural diversity, and the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE). Dear Editor, I would like to congratulate the College Republicans and the Drexel Democrats for registering over 1,000 students during numerous rallies, events and other organizational festivities since October. I have been at Drexel for nine years, and this is by far the greatest number Drexel students ever registered during any previous primary or general election cycle! I would like to applaud the efforts of Sean Miller, president, and John Lloyd, vice president, Drexel Democrats, and William Mulgrew, Emeritus President, and Ivan Skakun, president, College Republicans, for their leadership and successes in promoting the importance of civic participation, voter registration and participation in the electoral process.
