Exhibition college basketball games provide the first test for incoming freshmen - and redshirts. Players have to get acclimated to the style of the college game, an entirely different environment from the high school contests in which they made a name for themselves.
Already having clinched third place in the Colonial Athletic Association, the Drexel field hockey team fell to Towson, 4-2, in the regular season finale for both teams. The loss snapped the Dragons' four-game winning streak and gave the team a final regular season record of 11-8, including 5-3 in the conference.
Looking to rebound after suffering their first loss in eight games, the Dragons were unable to score for the second consecutive game as they got shut out by Northeastern, 2-0. The loss dropped Drexel's record to 9-4-2 (6-2 CAA) for the season, and it was the team's first loss on the road in conference play.
