Putting the "right" in playwright, Peter Shaffer after his recent revival on the London and Broadway stage has delivered a revised version of his already acclaimed play Amadeus. Originally produced in 1979, many may be more familiar with the 1984 film version which sparked a boon of interest in Mozart's music and even composer and cruel nemesis Antonio Salieri.
There is certainly no shortage of inexpensive ethnic food in the University City area. However, if you've been living here for more than a few months, you've no doubt discovered that all takeout/buffet places are not created equal. Over the last few years I've sampled quite a number of local restaurants, but as of late there is one I have visited (or ordered from) regularly: New Delhi Indian Restaurant, on 4004 Chestnut Street.
It's a common mistake to think that Oktoberfest takes place exclusively during October. Maybe it did back when it started in 1810, but nowadays, the bulk of it is in September. I suppose "Septemberfest" just doesn't look German enough. Still, like most drunken gatherings, the first Oktoberfest was a wedding party, commemorating the marriage of Prince Ludwig to Princess Theresa, whose full name is entirely too long to print.
Philadelphia natives, Circa Survive, have been toiling the past six months or so in promotion of their latest album, On Letting Go. Many people recognize Circa Survive for their frontman, Anthony Greene, who's high-pitched and wide ranged voice is one of the most recognizable in the business.
