Placer County sees need for private U.

News about Drexel's plans to build a campus in California has been making a splash in local news and college media around the nation. The University's plans to build a campus near Sacramento, would meet the area's demand for higher education, and would position the University in an area with one of the largest projected prospective student increases, Phil Terranova, VP of University Relations, said in an e-mail Thursday.

Library to open first 24-hour facility in October

A section of the Hagerty Library is currently undergoing renovation and is slated to be the first permanent 24-hour facility on campus. Construction is scheduled to be finished in October, according to Dorothy Schwartz, director of administrative services for the library.

Rankings Released

Princeton Review, U.S. News pass their annual verdict of Drexel's performance.

Popular college rankings were released by the Princeton Review and U.S. News and World Report in late August, with Drexel's assessment staying relatively similar to previous years. The U.S. News and World Report tries to provide a comprehensive overview of schools, while Princeton Review focuses on lifestyle of the top schools, and other reviews focus on specific schools and even individual concentrations.

City says SEPTA can't eliminate transfers

Common Pleas court in Philadelphia ruled that SEPTA will not be allowed to eliminate transfers. The transfers currently cost 60 cents if a rider wants to board another bus en route to their final destination.
