The men's basketball program had quite the exciting season this past winter. The team generated so much buzz and school spirit at Drexel, and their achievements will not soon be forgotten. And in case you missed it, thanks to the new documentary Dawn of the Dragon, everyone will have the chance to experience an in-depth look at the 2006-07 Dragons.
Over 100 awards were presented at this year's eleventh annual Scholar-Athlete Awards May 18 in the Behrakis Grand Hall. These awards are given to recognize student-athletes who perform as well in their academic studies as they do in their athletics. The scholar-athletes all had a cumulative GPA of 3.
The honors keep piling up for the men's lacrosse team. This time, however, the men's lacrosse coach will get the opportunity to work with some of the best lacrosse players in the country. Drexel Head Coach Chris Bates was named head coach of the South team for the 2007 USILA North-South Classic.
College provides students with an opportunity to achieve. For graduating senior point guard Bashir Mason, playing for Drexel has given him the opportunity to play basketball at the next level. Mason was recently drafted into the USBL (United States Basketball League).
