Flores island contains 3-foot skeletons

Imagine a world where 3-foot men roam the land amongst giant lizards. They organize hunts and use tools to survive in their primitive culture. Sound like Jurassic Park starring munchkins from The Wizard of Oz? Well, it might have been reality. Scientists have recently recovered at least seven skeletons of "little people" from the island of Flores, which lies near Indonesia.

Targeted cancer treatment avoids painful side effects

Recently, Texas researchers claim they have perfected a method to deliver cancer treatment directly into tumors, bypassing healthy tissue. The study was initially done on mice, but human trials could begin shortly. The research team worked with the benefits of interferon beta, an effective treatment for multiple sclerosis, which can kill cancer cells.

Proposition 71 passed in California

Nov. 2 brought a tremendous victory for Republicans and conservatives alike. President Bush will serve another term, and Republicans won additional seats in both the House and Senate. There was, however, a conservative defeat in California. Californians, in addition to voting for candidates, voted to approve Proposition 71 giving 3 billion tax dollars to further stem cell research in the golden state.
