In an effort to continue to improve the men's basketball program at Drexel, the Athletic Department signed head coach Bruiser Flint to a multi-year contract extension June 20. The length of the contract has not been disclosed. Flint, a two-time Colonial Athletic Association Coach of the Year, has led the Dragons to two straight second place finishes in the conference and an overall record of 51-37 in his three years at the school.
Women's basketball head coach Denise Dillon signed a multi-year contract July 29, which removes the interim title from her name and solidifies her as the future of Drexel women's basketball. The terms of the deal were not disclosed. "I'm so happy that I have the opportunity to stay here at Drexel," Dillon said.
I don't know about you, but I love watching baseball, especially in person. I love seeing Jim Thome blasting balls out of the park and Randy Wolf painting the corners with curveballs. What I don't like is when the umpires decide they want take the game into their own hands.
A moment of silence please, for the boxing career of Mike Tyson. "Iron Mike's" career was pronounced dead two minutes and fifty one seconds into his heavyweight bout with Danny Williams on Friday, July 30. This begs one question: Who in the name of Cus D'Amato is Danny Williams? I'll admit that, even as a boxing fan, I did not have the slightest clue who Danny Williams was.
The Drexel men's soccer team will begin their 2004 season with a home game against American University Sept. 1. The team will also host two Philadelphia rivals, La Salle and Temple and will then travel down 34th Street to take on the University of Pennsylvania Sept.
