Chuck Zovko is the man behind Lafayette's "Zovko moment." Despite his nominal anonymity, every student has seen his work. Zovko is the man behind the lens - the go-to photographer for a majority of Lafayette's events and functions.
Zovko is currently an independent contractor and Lafayette is his largest client, yet his pursuit of a career in photography was something of a unforeseen curveball, even to him.

A few months back, I read an article discussing one of craft brewing's more impulsively bizarre leaders, Sam Calagione of Dogfish Head Craft Brewery. Generally, his lineup consists of extreme beers that exceed the constraints of most beer styles. Occasionally however, something completely out of left field pops into his beach-bum brain and this week's beer, Sah'tea, is the result.

Vampires, werewolves and the teenagers they form relationships with, all amidst the rainy backdrop of Forks, Wash., are elements for a movie with a rather specific target audience. For those who lack an appreciation for the tousle-haired, fanged Brit and colorless, demure waif that dominate "New Moon," the long-awaited sequel to last November's "Twilight," there is still something to be desired: the soundtrack.

"The Men Who Stare At Goats" opens with a title card stating: "More of this is true than you would believe." I don't know about that, but I do know that the movie is funnier than it probably has any right to be, even if its clunky vignettes of political commentary weigh down the laughs.

While the tagline for "2012" states that "We Were Warned" of the Mayan prediction that the world will end Dec. 21, 2012, we weren't warned of being overloaded with two and a half hours of special effects porn as well as an underdeveloped script.
But if the movie is right and the world does end in 2012, those two and a half hours of my life will be sorely missed.
