Frank Lloyd Wright, a mastermind in the world of art and architecture, once said, "The mother art is architecture. Without an architecture of our own we have no soul of our own civilization." The brilliance of this expression is a concept to be understood in the design of any institution, such as Drexel University.

According to the National Institute of Mental Health, an estimated 26.6 percent of all citizens over the age of 18 suffer from mental illness in America, most typically resulting from high stress levels. Because of our country's culture, it isn't difficult to become overwhelmed-we are in a debilitating recession with 24-hour news portraying grisly crimes, not to mention the "terror index," self-managed retirement plans, unemployment rates-and the list goes on.

It's the morning of class registration, you've picked out the courses you want and you've got your schedule mapped out just the way you like it-one problem: when you wake up and log on to DrexelOne at 6 a.m., you realize that you've got a financial hold because your federal loan hasn't been disbursed yet.

If a man cannot afford a drug that would save his wife's life, can one really fault him for stealing the drug in order to let his wife live?
Simultaneously, can one fault the drug manufacturer for demanding an unaffordable price from this man if its business is based on creating prices that produce profits? What is more reasonable than blaming either of these two conflicting parties is considering a third party: the institution that allows money to control whether or not someone lives or dies.

To the Editor:
I am writing in response to the editorial from a few weeks ago about Greek Life's participation in community service projects on Lafayette's campus. I am insulted and offended by the accusations made against me and my classmates. It shocked me that Ms.

The Constitution is secular. Get over it. You've got the Bible, Jesus, the Crusades - and whatever else you want to be proud of. I don't jump to claim things on behalf of atheism. I don't jump to claim there is a God. The people who assert that our Founding Fathers were driven to freedom because of their religion somehow forget that the Puritans had nothing to do with writing the Constitution.

At a first glance, God appears to be everywhere. He is in the tiny churches where both the innocent and the sinful alike go and pray. He is hanging from the gold crosses that dangle from the necks of gangsters, drug dealers and the dead bodies they pull from the trunks of their cars.

Two local college students were recently transported to the Bethlehem police headquarters after failing to pay a mandatory tip at the Lehigh Pub. Was the bad publicity worth the $16 tip that would have been lost?

Who would've thought that the "misses" and "plus" signs that separates us in clothing stores would find its way on to Lincoln's campus?
Under Lincoln University rule, students who have a clinical body mass index over 30 are required to take a physical education class.

St. Joe's hasn't had much technological luck this past semester, and students understand that the Office of Information Technology (IT) is doing the best it can with a difficult situation. But after months of dysfunctional service, it is necessary to question why such a problematic system remains the first choice for the university.

It's the most wonderful time of the year.
Christmas? No, of course not. I am talking about registration time. It's the time when students of all years freak out over what courses they can get into, and try their best to fill in the ambiguous requirements of the GER.

Needing only fifty-one seats to vote "YES," the Affordable Health Choice for America Act of 2009 eagerly awaits being passed.
The majority vote of the upper house is highly valued in this decision.
Only a filibuster can prevent the passing of this vote, which is when forty one members of the senate object to the passing of a bill.

This past week has been rainy, gloomy and an eye opening experience for students at Lincoln University.
The entire campus has been in an upheaval since junior Amelia Sherwood found a moth in her salad and began her war against the administration. She spoke out against the delayed library renovations, the failed cafeteria health inspection, the housing shortage, and the sometimes aggressive force used by Public Safety officials.

This week, things will get rowdy. And with the most-played rivalry in college football history upon us on our turf, why shouldn't they? But let's take a look at some other violent sports events.

While walking around campus, I often hear students complain about the lousy quality and service of our dining provider. I count myself amongst this number. On the other hand, in my personal opinion the cafeteria has improved greatly in the two years that I have been here, which is noteworthy and appreciated.

The stock market crashed, the job market has gone to the dogs, health care costs have skyrocketed, and it seems that every "complimentary" service now comes with a hefty price tag.
While a pair of True Religion Designer Denim jeans, a Fendi Watch or that to-die for pair of Jimmy Choos may not be in your budget, there are ways to look good without swallowing a designer price tag.

Ok, now you know that I usually like to keep these things strictly about West Chester.
Ok, so that's really a lie if you consider last week's trick or treating expose. Outside of that one--- and a few odd detours here and there--- my editorials are
USUALLY about West Chester.

By this point in the year, we all have heard way too much about the swine flu (or, if you want to be fancy, the H1N1 virus). Whether it is from paranoid teachers who do not want to get sick, students wishing they could get the virus to get out of classes, or worried parents back at home, everyone seems to have swine on their minds.

Like many other conservatives, I would say that the 2008 elections were not a pleasant experience. Not only was the Republican Party's own mediocre presidential candidate roundly trounced by President Barack Obama, but Democrats gained five Senate seats and an astounding 21 House seats.
